The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in Hague, Karim Khan, requested today, Saturday, to the First Appeals Chamber, to reject “Israel’s” request to suspend the two arrest warrants issued against the Prime Minister of the Israeli enemy entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the dismissed Minister of Security, Yoav Galant.
Khan confirmed that “the Israeli request does not meet the criteria for direct appeal, according to the Rome Statute.”
A few days ago, “Israel” demanded a review of the decision of the International Criminal Court regarding the arrest of Netanyahu and Galant, although it promotes that it does not recognize the court, but the court rejected the request, and insisted on implementing the two rulings issued against them.
The appeal request sparked controversy behind the scenes, stating that filing an appeal is in itself a recognition of the court.
The International Criminal Court had previously issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Galant, on charges of committing war crimes in Gaza, while Israeli officials commented on the International Criminal Court’s issuance of the arrest warrants, saying that the decision was “an unparalleled disgrace.”
