Does Trump Realize Yemen’s Rise Was No Stroke of Luck?

Every time the United States raises its tone of threats against Yemen, it becomes increasingly clear that these threats are nothing more than expressions of American frustration and despair in handling the Yemeni file. Yemen’s growing power has emerged as a real and undeniable threat to American projects targeting the region.

From the outset, a dark veil of blindness has clouded America’s vision — a blindness that reveals not only the failure of U.S. intelligence superiority in gathering accurate information but also highlights Yemen’s exceptional ability to confront the American entity with confidence, equal footing, and strategic intelligence. This reality has pushed American military leaders into a state of frenzy, desperately brainstorming ways to drag Yemen back to square one. The threat emerging from the far south of the Arabian Peninsula now represents a severe and complex challenge for the United States — one it cannot confront with its usual ease. From Washington’s perspective, eliminating this rising threat has become an urgent necessity.

At the same time, certain paid mouthpieces have emerged, trying to depict Trump’s era as different from Biden’s — claiming that Yemen will face greater difficulties dealing with Trump’s administration. In reality, these claims only confirm that Yemen has successfully cemented itself as a disruptive force in America’s calculations, becoming a source of turmoil and instability for Washington in the region. These same mouthpieces have effectively turned into tools, crafting messages aimed at relieving the pressure weighing down on the White House.

America’s Primitive Mentality

America’s approach to Yemen stems from its deep-seated superiority complex — a mindset that refuses to accept the emergence of any power capable of challenging American dominance. As a result, Washington’s actions and rhetoric have reflected an alarming level of foolishness and naivety. Its spasms of rage resemble the primitive reactions of early humans when confronted by enemies, wild animals, or harsh natural forces.

Strategic thinking should have dictated a more rational approach — one that acknowledges Yemen’s reality and deals with it logically, instead of resorting to arrogance and condescension when addressing Yemen’s right to self-defense. This arrogant approach only accelerates the erosion of America’s global reputation, influence, and even the welfare of its own people.

America’s fundamental miscalculation began when it tried to impose a new reality by force — resorting to threats and intimidation, even talking about imposing “peace” through military power. But peace imposed by force is an illusion — something history has taught time and again. Decades of political and military research, along with the testimonies of seasoned global politicians and military strategists, all confirm this truth. The past ten years of aggression against Yemen alone serve as undeniable proof — Trump left the White House and then returned, yet his country, despite all its cunning and military might, failed to impose its will on the Yemeni people.

Yemen has consistently called for genuine peace and has made numerous concessions to achieve it — but real peace can only be built on mutual respect, ending aggression, and respecting the sovereignty of nations. The language of force, however, only invites a forceful response. America and its allies understand nothing but the language of violence and brute power — yet Yemen refuses to be addressed in such a tone. In response to Trump’s latest threats, Yemen’s message came swiftly and decisively through Mohammad Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council: “Yemen will secure its own peace — and Palestine’s peace — with the strength of our weapons, the strength of our faith, and the strength of our principles. We do not fear you, nor do we tremble before you.”

Once again, Yemen reaffirmed that its sovereignty is no laughing matter — the dignity of the Yemeni people is a red line, and anyone who crosses it will face swift and direct retaliation.

Trump’s Grimace Backfires at Home

Trump’s reckless leadership has only plunged America deeper into humiliation and disgrace. By bypassing reason and indulging in chaotic and reckless dealings with the world, he has dragged his country toward collapse. Today, 70% of Americans reject his destructive policies, seeing them as a direct cause of America’s accelerating decline.

Trump’s anger spiked when he sent his warplanes into Yemen’s skies — seemingly to test whether Yemen would cower before his aggressive posture and threatening grimace. But instead, Yemen’s air defenses delivered a swift response, sending him a counter-message he never expected. After all, America has grown accustomed to freely roaming the skies of the region without so much as a protest or condemnation.

The interception of an F-16 fighter jet and an MQ-9 reconnaissance drone over Yemen’s territorial waters in the Red Sea sent a resounding message: Yemen will not tolerate any violation of its sovereignty — not from America, nor from any other invader.

The incident also confirmed a crucial fact: Yemen’s powerful emergence is not the product of mere luck or a desire for empty theatrics. It is the result of deliberate, dedicated effort, rooted in a legitimate cause — the right to self-defense.

Additionally, the event demonstrated Yemen’s growing military capabilities and full preparedness to confront any threat. There is no room for Washington’s delusions — this was not an isolated act of escalation. As the commander of the USS Eisenhower, admitted:“We faced Yemeni ballistic missiles in the Red Sea — missiles that fly high, then plunge vertically down. We’ve never seen anything like them in these waters before. Their drones are enormous — larger than a car, twice the size even — and they carry integrated warheads capable of punching massive holes into our ships.”

Yemen Does Not Blow Media Bubbles

American warplanes have no legal or moral right to violate Yemen’s airspace — a clear violation of international laws and norms. Washington’s arrogance does not grant it a license to trample over the sovereignty of nations at will.

From the very beginning, Yemen declared its clear position: there are no red lines when it comes to its legitimate right to self-defense. America’s inflated image does not intimidate Yemen — and if America feels humiliated by its repeated failures, that is America’s problem alone. Yemen’s principles are firm, its red lines clear, and it will never allow anyone to cross them.

If America seeks an easier target for its threats, it would do better to focus on the region’s countires — those that pretend to be regional powers while failing even to secure their own internal stability. When Yemen speaks, it does not throw empty slogans into the air — every word is backed by action, stemming from faith in Allah and confidence in the deterrent capabilities that Allah has enabled Yemen to develop. These capabilities exist to deter the forces of tyranny and hypocrisy.

Yemen’s decisions are sovereign — Yemen will never hesitate to protect its national resources, wealth, and interests. No power, no matter how great, will be allowed to interfere in Yemen’s internal affairs. It would be wise for America and its allies to finally learn how to read these facts correctly, without the distorted lens of arrogance and superiority. As Yemen’s Minister of Defense, Major General Mohammad al-Atifi, warned on Tuesday: “The Americans, British, Israelis, and their allies must think a thousand times before embarking on any reckless adventure or irresponsible action. The region must come to terms with the reality of Yemen — there is no longer time for deception or games. The past decade was bitter, but what comes next will be far harsher and more painful. Any project aimed at dividing or fragmenting Yemen is destined to fail — the entire Yemeni people stand united against it.”
