The Hodhod Center for Archaeological Studies revealed a report documenting the process of stealing Yemeni antiquities and selling them at international auctions.
The Hoopoe Center indicated that more than 4,265 smuggled antiquities were sold in 6 countries, namely America through 5 auctions, Britain through 4 auctions, France 3 auctions, two auctions in the Zionist entity and an auction for Germany and the Netherlands.
He added that the number of pieces sold and displayed during the aggression period amounted to 2,610, with America in the first place, 2,167 artifacts, then the Netherlands, and the Zionist entity in third place, 501 artifacts.
The center pointed out that the number of artifacts sold during the period of aggression was 2,523, with an estimated value of $12 million, oointing out that among the pieces monitored by the report were pieces whose price reached more than $800,000, such as a manuscript dating back to the fifteenth century AD.
The Hodhod Center confirmed that the initial statistics of antiquities models included 7 international museums, which contain 1,384 artifacts.
