Transport Minister calls on the UN to pressure the other side to implement Stockholm Agreement
Minister of Transport Zakaria al-Shami on Monday affirmed that the Supreme Political Council and the Salvation Government are eager to go on coordination with UN Mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) unilaterally for the success of Stockholm Agreement.
Al-Shami ,during his meeting with Deputy Head of UNMHA Daniela Kroslak, referred to the facilities provided by the Ministry of Transport and the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation to the mission to enable it to carry out its tasks, calling on the UN mission to pressure the other side to implement its obligations in accordance with the Stockholm agreement.
The UN official commended the cooperation of the Political Council, the Government and the Transport Ministry to ensure the success of the UN mission in Hodeidah, noting to the positive and fruitful steps achieved in the past two months on the ground.
The meeting discussed the possibility of establishing a heliport for the UN mission’s helicopters and the coordination mechanism with technicians and relevant authorities to determine its location in accordance with international standards.
