YPC warns of a humanitarian catastrophe due to depletion of its fuel stocks

The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) warned on Sunday of an imminent humanitarian catastrophe due to seizing oil tankers by the Saudi-led aggression, which has led to the depletion of its fuel stocks during the next hours.

Ammar Al-Adrai, the executive director of the company said in a news statement that the company tried during the past days to sell and distribute the available quantities using the emergency plan to cover citizens’ needs and the important sectors from oil derivatives.

Al-Adrai called on the United Nations hoping that the world’s countries move to release oil derivative ships being detained by the Saudi-led aggression countries.

The statement affirmed that about five hundred hospitals and health centers, a thousand drinking water projects, and 800 power stations would go out services due to the lack of fuel derivatives.

The statement confirmed also the aggressive countries have continued to seize 15 tankers loaded with gas, oil, And food under the United Nations’ cover for 90 days.

It held the United Nations and the aggression coalition the full responsibility for the imminent humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the suspension of all vital sectors directly related to the lives and livelihoods of citizens, especially the health, hygiene, water, electricity, and transport sectors.
