A protest stand in front of the UNs office in Hodeidah, denounce the continued detention of oil derivative ships

The local authority and all service sectors in Hodeidah governorate organized, on Wednesday, a protest stand in front of the United Nations office to denounce the continued denial of the entry of oil derivative ships to the port of Hodeidah, which threatens to stop all services.

The participants in the stand condemned the maritime piracy practiced by the countries of the coalition of the US-Saudi aggression in the Red Sea, whether on ships of oil and food products or against Yemeni fishermen in regional waters.

The governor of the province, Ahmed Al-Bishri, confirmed that the aggression’s detention of oil derivative ships threatens to stop the services provided by dialysis centers, hospitals, and other service facilities.

He held the countries of aggression fully responsible for the catastrophic consequences of the power outages and the cessation of basic services for the citizens, especially in light of the high temperature during the summer of this year.

The statement of the protest condemned the continued detention of oil derivatives ships and the closure of the port of Hodeidah, and the consequent increase in the suffering of the Yemeni people in light of the silence of the United Nations and its envoy to Yemen.

The statement also condemned the piracy practiced by the aggression coalition countries on fuel and food ships, in violation of the Stockholm Agreement on Hodeidah.

The statement stated that the aggression countries are holding five oil ships, including one loaded with diesel and four ships with gasoline, with a tonnage of 116,836 tons, for a period of more than five months (177 days).

The local authority and service sectors in Hodeidah held the Security Council, the United Nations and the coalition of aggression led by America, the legal, moral and humanitarian responsibility for the repercussions of preventing the entry of oil derivatives, they demanded the speedy release of the detained ships and permission to enter them to alleviate the suffering of the population.

The statement also called on the free people of the world to stand by the Yemeni people and press for the release of fuel ships to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe following the suspension of vital service sectors.
