Foreign Minister meets UN envoy to Yemen

 

Foreign Minister, Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, called on the United Nations, its envoy and the international community to make the statements and meetings that took place during the past period into a tangible reality through the countries of the coalition of aggression to stop the policy of collective punishment represented in preventing the entry of oil ships, household gas and commercial goods to the port of Hodeidah and reopening Sana’a International Airport.

Minister Sharaf  met with the Special Envoy of Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Mr. Martin Griffiths, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, UN envoy gave an inclusive presentation of the efforts and endeavors of the United Nations and the international community to end the war in Yemen and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

For his part, the Foreign Minister praised the efforts of the UN envoy, explaining that the ball is now in the side of the coalition of aggression’s states, and if they want to end their absurd and aggressive war on Yemen, they must stop funding their mercenaries on the ground.

He stressed that the position of the political leadership represented by the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government is clear, frank and totally biased in the interest of the Yemeni people to end the aggression and lift the comprehensive siege in order to reach a political settlement process and sustainable peace.

The meeting was attended by Head of Foreign Minister’s Office Department, Ambassador Dr. Tariq Mutahar, Head of the Protocol Department, Ambassador Abdul Ghani Al-Saidi, Director of Protocols Aseel Al-Nazili, a member of the Minister’s Office Department, Alia Al-Sadmi, Deputy UN Envoy Mr. Moeen Shreim, and Director of the Envoy’s Office in Sana’a, Mr. Ayman Makki.
