Yemen Holds Grand Military Parade to Mark 60th Anniversary of October 14 Revolution
Sanaa, Yemen – The Yemeni Armed Forces held a grand military parade today in the Al-Bayda governorate to mark the 60th anniversary of the October 14 Revolution that led to the end of British colonial rule in South Yemen.
The parade, organized by the 7th Military District, was attended by top government and military officials including President Mahdi al-Mashat, Defense Minister Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi, and Chief of General Staff Major General Mohamed Abdulkareem al-Ghamari. It showcased symbolic units from the 7th Military District’s infantry, artillery, anti-tank, attack drones, and helicopter forces.
The various military units demonstrated their readiness to protect Yemen’s revolutions and their achievements, including the October 14 Revolution which began in the Radfan mountains with the participation of Yemenis nationwide to expel the British occupation. It ended successfully and showed the willingness of Yemeni citizens to sacrifice for a life of dignity and pride.
In a speech during the parade, Defense Minister al-Atifi greeted all attendees, especially President al-Mashat. He conveyed congratulations from Ansar Allah leader, Sayyid Abdulmalik al-Houthi, to the 7th Military District leadership for this impressive achievement in building military capabilities to protect Yemen’s independence.
Al-Atifi said it was fitting that the parade coincided with celebrations of the October 14 Revolution, which he called “a shining and staunch beacon of hope for the nation and people, rejecting the colonizers and agents of conspiracy from regional powers who agreed to assist the colonizer against our people and their hopes and aspirations for freedom and independence.”
Touching on developments in Palestine, al-Atifi confirmed that the Al-Aqsa Flood operation led by the Palestinian resistance axis with unlimited support from resistance leaders was greatly endorsed by the Yemeni people through massive public demonstrations supporting the operation to liberate holy sites from the Israeli enemy. He said the blessed operation exposed the reality that Israel is weaker than a spider web.
Al-Atifi congratulated the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, affirming the armed forces’ permanent stance with the Palestinian cause and high readiness to implement the directives of Sayyid Abdulmalik al-Houthi. He expressed the military’s satisfaction with Sayyid al-Houthi’s declaration to join the war if America intervenes directly in the aggression on Gaza.
“We in the armed forces say, at your service, oh our leader, at your service, oh leader of the revolution. Wherever you direct us, we will move as lethal volcanoes against enemies, wherever they are found. By Allah, if you ordered us to sail from Yemen to Morocco on our missiles and drones, we would not hesitate a moment. We will support our brothers and comrades in the resistance axis and confront the Zionist project, and we are in the highest readiness to participate with our army and free fighters to practically implement your directions, Allah willing. That will be proven in the coming days,” al-Atifi stated.
He added that while busy on the fronts, the armed forces have worked to build their military capabilities to terrify enemies and contribute to deterrence, making Yemen strong and sending important messages that Yemen has capabilities to inflict great pain on any enemy or aggressor. He stressed enemies must know that if a battle erupts again, it will be more intense than before.
Al-Atifi explained that the current stage with its shifting events is by all political, military and economic measures important, sensitive and serious. He said that Sayyid Abdulmalik al-Houthi has outlined its features in his critical speech on the Prophet’s birthday, in which he also announced the first phase of radical change to address the revolutionary course on a solid foundation based on faithful identity.
The grand parade highlights Yemen’s military strength and serves as a warning to foreign enemies not to underestimate its capabilities. As the country marks 60 years since the revolution against British colonialism, its armed forces stand ready to protect Yemen’s independence and sovereignty against any aggression.
